How Badge Points Work
A teammate earns a badge based on an action (for example, completing an intro or reacting to a celebration).
See the full list of available badges here.
Donut awards points automatically for that badge.
The teammate’s reward balance increases, and they can redeem points in the Rewards Store (if enabled)
In the Automatic Points → Badges points settings, you can:
Disable badge points for your workspace
Set the point value for each badge
Disable point awards for individual badges
Automatic Points Settings
Log in to the Donut dashboard.
In the left sidebar, go to Shoutouts & Points → Automatic Points under Admin tools.
Select the Badges points tab
From this page, you can view and edit how points are awarded.
How to Customize Badge Points Settings
On the Badges points tab, you can control how teammates earn points for receiving Badges.
Use the toggle to enable or disable automatic points for Donut badges across your workspace.
Donut’s default message to participants says:
“You just earned a new badge! Nice work, [name]! You unlocked the [badge name] badge +1 🍩 for your reward balance.”The default value is 1 point per badge earned, but admins can change this amount for each badge. Note: the exchange rate for gift cards is 1 Point = 10¢.
Each badge is listed with:
A field named after your Point emoji (default is Donuts), this is where you can set how many points are given for earning a badge

Store Settings
Points earned from Badges can be redeemed in the Rewards Store. You can customize the store anytime by enabling automatic gift cards and adding custom rewards.
Go to Shoutouts & Points → Store settings.
If your store is disabled, you’ll see a red banner that says:
“Your reward store is disabled. Please enable it to allow your teammates to redeem their reward points.”
Click "Enable reward store" to turn it on.When enabled, teammates will see the Rewards Store tab in their sidebar.
Turning it off hides the store from participants but keeps it visible to admins.
Donut includes a Tiny Dinosaur badge reward by default for all teams.
This reward is always visible and redeemable, even if you haven’t configured other rewards. You can edit or remove it anytime under Active manual rewards.
There is also an option to toggle on Automatic gift cards, which allow users to redeem points for global gift card options. Gift cards are available for teams on Standard or Premium plans. If you’re on the Free plan, you’ll see an upgrade prompt when trying to enable this feature.
Use the Reward Library section to create or customize additional rewards (monetary or not).
Permissions and Access
On paid plans admins can control who manages Points, Shoutouts, and Rewards settings through the Permissions tab.
Go to Shoutouts & Points → Permissions.
The list shows your Account Owner(s) and Account Admin(s), plus any teammates added as Shoutouts & Points Admins.
Shoutouts & Points Admins can:
Manage all Points and Shoutouts settings.
Enable or disable Points for Intros and Points for Badges.
Adjust reward settings, including automated gift card rewards.
To add someone, start typing their name in the search field.
To remove an admin, click the ✕ next to their name.
Note: Free teams don’t have Admin roles, so anyone in the workspace can manage Points and rewards.
