Thanks so much for your interest in our Donut for Microsoft Teams beta! These instructions will help you install Donut to your Teams workspace and start running Intros, which should take 5 minutes or less.

We're including two sets of instructions. Start with Upload Donut to Teams. If you don't have permission to upload an app directly, continue directly to Request Donut for Teams. Both methods of installing are quick and easy!

Method 1: Upload Donut to Teams

Try this method first. If you don't have permissions to upload Donut to your Team, skip to Method 2 to request your admin's approval.

πŸŽ₯ Watch this quick video, or see below for written instructions.

  1. Which Team would you like to add Donut to? You can choose from an existing Team, or create a new one just for Donut testing. If you'd like to make a new Team, go ahead and create one before Step 3.

  2. In the left rail of the Teams app, select Apps. In the lower left hand side of the Apps inset, select Manage your apps. At the top of the screen, you'll see an option to Upload an app. Select it.

  3. Choose Upload a custom app, and select the Donut-for-MS-Teams-v1.0.x.zip file from your Downloads folder. You'll see an app summary page. Choose "Add Donut to your team."

  4. Select the Team and channel you'd like to use for Intros from the drop-down menu.

πŸŽ‰ You're all set! Intros will automatically run in the Team and channel of your choice.

πŸ’‘If you didn't see the Upload a custom app option, you may not have permissions to install Donut yourself. If that's the case, no worries! See the Request Donut for Teams instructions below.

Method 2: Request Donut for Teams

Try this backup method if you don't have permissions to add Donut directly to your Team. This method allows you to ask your admin for permission.

πŸŽ₯ Watch this quick video, or see below for written instructions.

Select it.

  3. Choose "Submit an app to your org," and select Donut-for-MS-Teams-v1.0.x.zip from your Downloads folder.

  4. Your admin will need to go to the admin dashboard in Teams to "publish" the app. We recommend contacting your admin directly to explain what Donut is and to prompt them to publish. If they have concerns or questions, just reply to your email invite to join the beta and we'll be there to help!

  5. Once Donut is published, go to Apps and find Donut under "built for your org." Add Donut to your Team.

  6. Select the Team and channel you'd like to use for Intros from the drop-down menu.

πŸŽ‰ You're all set! Intros will automatically run in the Team and channel of your choice.

πŸ’‘If your admin has questions or concerns (or you need help finding an admin), just reply to your email invite to join the beta and we'll be happy to help!
