What a Cohort Is in Journeys
A cohort is the group of people—like new hires—who were enrolled in the same Journey and share the same set of scheduled messages. If a message falls on the same day in the Journey for everyone, you can change that date for the whole cohort in one step.
Note: Messages in Journeys come in many formats: tasks, polls, intros, group messages, channel posts, and more. See the full list of message types to learn more.
How to Move a Scheduled Message for an entire Cohort
In the left sidebar, go to Donut Journeys > All New Hires or All Participants
Click on the cohort you'd like to edit.
Click the pencil icon at the end of a participant or new hire’s row.
Drag and drop the scheduled message to a new date or time.
When the pop-up appears, choose: Apply to cohort
✅ You’ll see a green confirmation bar at the top of your screen once it’s complete.
Ways Full-Cohort Moves Can Help
Full-cohort moves are useful when:
A scheduled message falls on a day your team won’t be online
You need to shift the group’s timeline forward or backward
A cohort’s schedule needs to be realigned after a start-date change
