How to Move a Scheduled Message for an Entire Cohort

When you adjust the timing of a scheduled message in a Journey, you can now choose to apply that change to the full cohort. This makes it easier to keep all new hires on the same timeline without editing each participant individually.

What a Cohort Is in Journeys

A cohort is the group of people—like new hires—who were enrolled in the same Journey and share the same set of scheduled messages. If a message falls on the same day in the Journey for everyone, you can change that date for the whole cohort in one step.

Note: Messages in Journeys come in many formats: tasks, polls, intros, group messages, channel posts, and more. See the full list of message types to learn more.

How to Move a Scheduled Message for an entire Cohort

  1. In the left sidebar, go to Donut Journeys > All New Hires or All Participants

  2. Click on the cohort you'd like to edit.

  3. Click the pencil icon at the end of a participant or new hire’s row.

  4. Drag and drop the scheduled message to a new date or time.

  5. When the pop-up appears, choose: Apply to cohort

✅ You’ll see a green confirmation bar at the top of your screen once it’s complete.

Ways Full-Cohort Moves Can Help

Full-cohort moves are useful when:

  • A scheduled message falls on a day your team won’t be online

  • You need to shift the group’s timeline forward or backward

  • A cohort’s schedule needs to be realigned after a start-date change
