FAQs about Donut in Shared Channels

What plans include Donut Watercooler for shared channels?

Donut Watercooler can be used in Slack Connect shared channels on all plan levels. For Enterprise Grid shared channels, you’ll need to upgrade to our Premium plan.

How does using Donut in a shared channel impact my bill?

If your team is using Donut Watercooler in a shared channel, this will impact billing in the same way as a regular Watercooler channel:

  • Donut’s Free Plan includes 1 Watercooler channel with 12 default topics

  • Donut’s Standard + Premium subscriptions include unlimited Watercooler channels, all pre-made Watercooler Topics + Packs, and the ability to create your own custom topics

  • All users in Watercooler channels count as active users for paid plans

For more info about our paid subscription plans, check out our pricing page here or reach out to us at support@donut.ai if you have questions about your bill.

Does Donut need to be installed on both workspaces for it to work in a shared channel between two workspaces?

No, Donut only needs to be installed on the workspace that is setting up the channel. It will work for both workspaces as long as one of them has it installed and handles the setup process.

Who can edit the settings for my shared Watercooler Channel?

The channel settings will only show up in the Donut dashboard of the workspace where it was set up (so both workspaces will not see it). By default, only the channel creator will have access to settings. The channel owner can decide to grant permissions to other individuals from the same workspace and would do so from the dashboard.

Can Donut Intros or Celebrations also work in Slack shared channels?

Not at this time, but stay tuned for more information.
