What determines if my Donut subscription is subject to sales tax?

Your company's billing address determines whether or not sales tax is applicable, and Donut is required to collect sales tax. Tax rules differ by each state, so we consider the zip code you provide when assessing the tax rate.

At this time, we are not collecting VAT from any international customers.

If you need to edit or change your billing address, please reach out to support@donut.ai, and our support team will be happy to assist you with this update.

How is the tax rate determined?

Tax rates are determined by and vary by state. If you have any questions on your particular tax rate, reach out to support@donut.ai, and we'd be happy to provide more info.

Do the prices shown on Donut.com include sales tax?

No. The prices shown on our pricing page and our pricing-related help articles do not include sales tax.

Will Donut bill me retroactively?

No. Donut will not collect sales tax for any prior payments for your plan with us.

What do I do if I am exempt?

Please send your current and signed sales tax exempt certificate to support@donut.ai.

Do you have a reverse charge procedure?

In order for the reverse charge note to be added to your invoice, we must have your Tax ID added to your billing account. You can view instructions on how to add your Tax ID, here.
