Attaching files to Donut Journeys messages has never been easier! This is a great way to share important resources such as onboarding videos, training guides, and images with your team. Follow the steps below to learn how to use the attachment feature.

Step-by-Step Guide: Adding Attachments to Donut Journeys

1. Navigate to Donut Journeys

First, log into Donut and head to the Donut Journeys tab from your dashboard. This is where you can access all your existing Journeys or create new ones.

2. Select or Create a Journey

Choose an existing Journey by clicking "All Journeys" or start a new Journey by clicking Blank Journey or a Prebuilt Journey. If you're working with an existing Journey, click on the Journey to open it.

3. Select the Message to Add an Attachment

Locate the specific message in the Journey where you’d like to include an attachment. If you're editing an existing message, you can click directly into the message. If you're adding a new message, click Add Message to start.

🔍You may be prompted to provide additional permissions that Donut needs in order to add attachments. These additional permissions include:

  • Donut being able to view content and info about channels and conversations.

  • Donut being able to perform actions in channels and conversations.

Note: If you receive an error when adding these permissions, you'll need to contact your Slack Workspace Admin to ensure you have the correct permissions to make those changes. Make sure to copy your message in case anything resets after authentication!

4. Upload the Attachment

To upload a file:

  • Look for the paperclip icon at the bottom of your message that says, "Attach File"

  • Click the icon to open the attachment window.

  • Select the file from your computer that you wish to upload. Supported file types are listed below.

  • The file will be uploaded and the preview will display to the right.

🖇You can upload more than one attachment in the same message. There is a 300MB file size limit for the total amount of files uploaded. Please let us know if you encounter any issues with this file size limit.

5. Customize the Message

Once your attachment is uploaded, you can continue customizing the message. Consider adding text that explains the attached file, such as why it's important or how recipients should use it.

6. Save Changes or Create Your Message

After adding the attachment and customizing the message, don’t forget to Save your changes. If adding a new message, you'll need to click Create.

Here's a quick demonstration of the process!
