Donut Profiles: Fuel Connection and Better Intros

Profiles surface career highlights, interests, and fun facts to support better Intros, making team connections feel more meaningful.

What Are Donut Profiles?

Each teammate has a Profile in Donut that combines Slack details with self-submitted answers. These Profiles include:

  • Career and professional highlights

  • "About Me" Bio

  • Fun facts and interests (like food, hobbies, favorite TV shows, and more)

Profiles are easy to access and browse from the Donut dashboard, helping teammates get to know each other beyond just their job titles.

How to View or Edit Your Profile

  1. Open the Donut dashboard

  2. Click Profiles in the left sidebar menu

  3. Click the purple Edit button to open the modal and make changes

Editable Fields Include:

  • Location, Team, Start Date

  • Manager (selectable from a dropdown of Slack users)

  • LinkedIn URL

  • Slack details like your name, job title, and time zone are automatically synced from Slack.

  • Career Q&A (Experience and Growth)

  • Interests (Food, Arts & Entertainment, Activities, Personal History)

  • 🌟 Favorite Things — if you've filled these out in Slack before, they’ll pre-fill in your Profile (and you can edit them here too)

How Profiles Work with Donut Intros

If your team uses Donut Intros, Profiles make your matches more thoughtful and engaging. When someone gets matched, Donut’s AI pulls Profile info to generate a personalized intro message based on shared interests or experiences.

Example:
“@Jordan recently transitioned into product marketing, while @Nina is diving deeper into customer research for her next launch. Both are passionate about user empathy and have a background in content strategy—perfect combo for a great convo!”

✅ You can use Profiles without Intros,
but AI-generated Intros require Profiles to be filled out.

Can I browse my teammates’ Profiles?
Yes! Everyone on your Donut team can view each other’s Profiles from the dashboard.

​Can I update my Favorite Things in the Profile?
Yes. If you've filled them out via Slack before, they’ll appear automatically—but you can also edit them directly from the Profile modal.
