Let’s figure out the right option for you depending on what you’re hoping to do ⬇️

I'd like to opt out temporarily while I'm too busy, on vacation, or leave.

You should snooze Donut.

Whether you're entering your busy season, going on holiday, planning for leave, or just need a break, you can pause your Donut Intros for up to 4 cycles at a time. This can be done in under a minute. Here's how:

  1. Visit the Donut App home page within Slack. It should be listed on the lower left hand side under "Apps" and looks like this:

If you don't see the Donut app listed, click "Add Apps" and search for Donut. It should open up automatically without any additional setup!

  2. Click the "My Donut Channels" button.

  3. Here, you'll be able to see every Intros channel that you're in, along with the option to snooze. You can choose to snooze all Intros at once, or decide to do so by individual channel. To snooze all Intros at once, click the "Snooze All Intros Until..." button.

  4. To snooze an individual channel, select the drop-down menu next to the channel and select the next available Intro date that works for your schedule.

  5. That's it! You've successfully snoozed all Intros. After snoozing, you won't receive any new matches until your Intros resume, but you might get a final check-in message from Donut asking if you've had time to meet just so we can complete reporting.

💡 Pro-tip: When snoozing, It's important to keep in mind that every Donut channel has its own cadence or frequency of Intros. For example, you're going on a 2 week vacation, and you have a new Donut Intro every week, you may want to skip two cycles.

Donut isn't the right fit for me.

I'd like to stop receiving Intros until further notice, but don't want to leave the Donut channel(s).

You can adjust the Donut channel(s) settings you’re receiving Intros from on your Donut dashboard. Here's how:

  1. Find the channel you're looking to stop receiving Intros from and click the ⚙️ gear icon. This should take you to your personal settings page.

  2. Here you can choose to either snooze or exclude from all Intros for that channel. Make sure to click save at the top of the page when you're done!

I'd like to stop receiving Intros until further notice, and don't need to stay in the Donut channel(s).

You can opt out just by leaving the channel(s) in Slack. Go to the channel(s) and type "/leave." Note that per Slack rules, you can't leave #general.
