Here at Donut, we've helped over 20,000 teams create opportunities for human connection. Through that, we've found that fostering a sense of community and teamwork among employees is crucial to the success of that organization. Companies with more engaged and connected employees tend to have lower turnover rates, higher productivity, and better overall performance.

Our Standard or Premium plans would be a great way to give your team access to our full suite of features such as Intros, Watercoolers, and Celebrations. In this article, we'll walk you through how to start a free, no obligation trial and add credit card details so that you can make sure your subscription goes uninterrupted.

If your team has not started the free trial:

💡 Depending on your team's settings, you may not be able to install bots if you're not a Slack admin. If this is the case then you will need to have a Slack admin add Donut, or grant you admin permissions.

  1. Start by installing Donut. To install Donut, go to our homepage and click the “Try Donut for Free” button. You may then be prompted to sign in to your Slack account. If you're signed into multiple Slack workspaces, then you will be prompted to choose a workspace to install Donut to.

  2. Once Donut is installed, head to your dashboard's billing page and start a free trial from there by selecting the plan you'd like.

  3. Keep in mind, your trial will be 14 days long, and you can enter your credit card details at any time during this period. Once the 14 day period is over, your trial will end, and your plan will revert to free. If you have a card on file, your subscription will continue and your card will be billed at the end of your trial.

  4. If you haven't yet setup your first Donut Intros channel yet, you can learn how to do so here, or view some of our Ready-made Templates.

You can also find some helpful FAQs about how billing works here.

If your team has started the free trial and it is currently still in progress:

  1. Head to your dashboard's billing page where you will be able to see that your team is currently on a free trial (there will be a banner at the bottom of the page stating when your trial ends).

    1. Your trial will be 14 days long, and you can enter your credit card details at any time during this period. Once the 14 day period is over, your trial will end and your plan will revert to free. However, as long as you have a card on file, your subscription will continue and your card will be billed at the end of your trial.

If your team has started the free trial, but it has already ended:

  1. Head to your dashboard's billing page.

  2. Select the subscription plan of your choice and you will be prompted to upgrade (because your trial period is over)

  3. Add your credit card details and save to upgrade.

Adding a Credit Card

  1. Login to your dashboard with your Slack credentials

  2. Click "Billing" on the left hand side

  3. Click the "Payment Method" tab at the top of the page

  5. Once you've added your card details, click "Save Card" and you'll be all set!
